Rationale

We do CLW to help the children celebrate God's Word at their level and enable them to participate and respond as children. We hope to prepare them to better appreciate and respond to God's Word when they are members of the worshipping assembly.

CWL is not religious education

We ask that you register your children in our At-Home Religious Education Program each year.

Keep In Mind

Our role is to help children become more aware of God already present and active in their lives. We can help them learn ways to discover and articulate their encounters with God. We hope to provide a cheerful, warm, relaxed and loving environment for the children, not only as a sign of our community's love for them, but a sign of God's care and love. We are models of faith-filled people, who find hope and joy in God and each other.

We have a puppet ministry!
We are looking for adults and teens interested in being puppeteers for this ministry. Scripts are provided and a short practice takes place before each show. The puppet show is part of the homily for our young children at our regularly scheduled CLW Sundays. If you have a talent with puppets or would like to learn about becoming a puppeteer, please contact me.

CLW does not take the place of Religious Education. Parents must register their children in our Religious Education At-Home Study Program. 3yrs.old with parents, Pre-Kinder, Kindergarten and 1st graders-Hall 2nd graders-5th graders-Chapel

CLW Volunteers

NEW CLW TEACHERS 18+ must attend the SAFE ENVORNMENT TRAINING on Tuesday, September 21ST,7:30-8:30PM in the Parish hall and submit a CBC (Criminal Background Check).

NEW CLW TEACHERS must also attend OVASE TRAINING WORKSHOP on Thursday, September 9th 7:00-9:30pm in the Parish hall. Childcare will be provided.

In the Hall, 3 year olds with their parents, Pre-Kinder, Kindergarten and 1st graders hear the Sunday readings and a homily for their age level. Teachers and aides assist the children in the classrooms as they work on a color page or craft which reinforces the
Sunday Gospel message. Volunteers clean up the classrooms and lead the children back to Mass. This gives the volunteers time to receive communion. CLW volunteers pass on their faith and model a living faith to our young children. Be prepared to learn from the spirituality of the young children! Their simplicity, spontaneity and sincerity can often transform us if we are open.

Homilists Lectors

We need volunteers who enjoy speaking and reading to our young children. Homilists are given handouts with the Scripture readings to help prepare and create a short homily for the children. Lectors receive the readings in advance to allow time to practice and become familiar with the Sunday Scripture readings. If you are interested in helping with CLW as a Homilist, Lector, Teacher, Aide, Musician, or Puppeteers please contact:
