Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.” – John 12:26
The main purpose of our Altar Society is to provide for the adornment of the altar, sanctuary and chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church – Helotes.
Our mission is threefold: (a) purchase bread and wine; (b) provide and maintain vestments, altar cloths, purificators and corporals for the priests and church; (c) foster the spiritual life of our members, cultivating friendly relationships among the parishioners and to assist the Pastor in his ministry.
In addition to our main purpose and mission, we have many opportunities for you to share your time and talents through these committees:
- Bake, Craft and Plant Sale Committee
- Candle & Linen Committees
- Decorating Committee
- Fundraising & Social Committees
- Parish Festival Bingo & Shoe and Socks Drive
We are NOT all business, we do enjoy having fun. At each of our meetings, we provide dinner/snacks and refreshments along with socialization and opportunity for volunteering for committees. Additionally, we have two main social events for our members per year: a Summer Social and a Christmas Party.
We welcome you to be a part of this extraordinary group of ladies that love the Lord, and are committed to service as well as sharing their time and talents through our committees. We understand that many ladies are busy with their families and may still be working. We will take whatever time and talents you can provide.
We meet the first Tuesday of each month in the Parish Hall at 7:00 PM. See calendar for upcoming meetings and events. We have a $20 annual membership fee. Ladies 18 years and over are encouraged to be part of this faith-filled women’s ministry with us.
