Did you know that Halloween actually has Catholic origins? It comes from the Scottish shortening of the phrase “All hallow-even,” literally meaning “All Holy Evening” and dates to the 18th century. You can read more about this at this awesome article: https://religionunplugged.com/news/2019/10/15/halloween-and-its-catholic-origins-overlooked-by-the-secular-press
This year, OLG is celebrating All Hallows’ Eve with our Trunk-or-Treat event! We will have several stations set up with candy, games and activities, drinks and snacks, and more! Be sure to come dressed up in your favorite costume! All ages are welcome.
VOLUNTEERING
You can now volunteer to bring your decorated vehicle/station to pass out candy! We also need general volunteers to help with booths, games, and activities. For more information, please email Sandra at sarchey@olghelotes.org. Please click on the link below to volunteer.
