1. What Is the Archbishop’s Appeal?

The Annual Archbishop’s Appeal is a ministry of the Archdiocese of San Antonio Catholic community. The Appeal is a living manifestation of the Word of God serving our brothers and sisters in Christ. Its mission is to identify, develop, and acquire the financial resources to support Archdiocesan ministries dedicated in serving and forming missionary disciples of Jesus Christ for the promise of eternal life.

The Archbishop’s Appeal helps support programs & ministries in our parish, such as:

  • Seminary Program
  • Deaconate Program
  • Campus Ministry
  • Parish Outreach
  • So much more!

To read more about the Archbishop’s Appeal, we invite you to visit the archdiocese’s website at www.archsa.org/appeal.

3. How Can I Support My Parish in the Appeal?

4. What Is the Goal for Our Parish?

The goal for our parish this year is very simple: 25% Parish Participation.

Yep, you read it right: 25% parish participation. But what does that mean? Well, unlike most years where there was a specific monetary value, this year, the archdiocese is striving to increase parish participation. Which means, it doesn’t matter HOW MUCH our parishioners give, but rather HOW MANY of our parishioners give.

This means, if 25% of our parishioners donate, no matter how much, we will hit our goal!

5. Learn More About the Archbishop’s Appeal

If you’d like to learn more about the Archbishop’s Appeal, we invite you to visit the archdiocese’s website at www.archsa.org/appeal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why are we promoting Text-To-Give?
Text-To Give simplifies the giving process for both users and data entry. Donor information is updated, reduces errors in manually entering gifts due to difficulty in reading and interpreting handwriting. Also, during a Covid environment, giving digitally reduces the risk of transmission of the virus.

Does this mean we can no longer give via mail or by phone?
No, you may still give by mail, phone, online, and texting. We strongly encourage giving online and text-to-give, however we are grateful for your generosity and will accept your gifts in any of the available methods.

What is 100% participation?
We invite all of the faithful throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio to participate in the Archbishop’s Appeal for Ministries, Resilient in Faith & Service. The Appeal is a pillar among our faith community, and we want to share the importance of the Appeal and the 30 funded ministries whose mission is to spread God’s merciful love. You can participate by making a monetary gift, sending a prayer request, or praying for the Appeal.

What does 25% parish participation mean?
The ideal goal is for 100% participation from our parish communities. However, the minimum target goal for each parish is 25% parishioner participation to reach the overall 2021 Appeal goal. We understand these are difficult times and we sincerely thank you for supporting the Appeal in any way you can. As a faithful community we can surpass this year’s goal and serve countless lives.

Is there no financial goal this year?
No, the goal for 2021 is engagement and participation. We want people to learn about the Appeal and participate in the work of our shared ministries.

Are the materials available in Spanish?
Absolutely! Materials are available in both English and Spanish.

How can the elderly participate if they have difficult with technology?
We are happy to help and process gifts over the phone. Gifts can also be made by completing an in-pew envelope. Also, family members, neighbors, and friends can invite and assist in making gifts digitally.

2020 Appeal Parish Rebates?
Rebates for the 2020 Appeal year will be deposited into parish accounts at the end of the month.
