Sharing the Word with His Children

You shall teach them to your children, talking to them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 11:19

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an introduction of the Mass for children as the Readings are proclaimed at an age-appropriate level.

Children ages 3 (with parent) – to age 6 are led out of the Church into the Chapel with a Deacon or Lay Minister.  They listen to the readings in a simpler version and then receive a reflection to help them understand the message.  When they are finished, they are led back into the main Church for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

We need adult volunteers to assist with this ministry. We need one leader and 1 or 2 assistants to cover a Mass. CLW usually meets the first two Sundays of each month at the 9 AM, 10:45 AM and 12:30 PM masses during the school year.

If you have a desire to help, please prayerfully consider this opportunity. Teaching experience is always helpful but not required. Contact our Parish Office at (210) 695-8791 to let us know of your interest.
