Faithful Parish Family,
With the recent developments from the state of Texas and the Archdiocese of San Antonio, we find it appropriate to once again update our mass livestream schedule for our parish community.
According to KENS 5, as of Friday, May 7, 2021, “798,499 Bexar County residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, representing 51.4% of the county’s population eligible to receive a vaccination. 600,677 Bexar County residents are fully vaccinated, representing 38.7% of the county’s population eligible to receive a vaccination.” As well, as of Sunday, May 23, 2021, the Archbishop of San Antonio, Gustavo García-Siller, revoked the archdiocese-wide dispensation and reinstated the obligation to attend Sunday mass and holy days of obligation in-person. Those who have yet to read the archbishop’s decree can read about it on our website and at archsa.org.
With this information in mind, Our Lady of Guadalupe – Helotes would like to welcome back our parish family members who have been away from the community and the Eucharist for so long. Thus, beginning Sunday, June 6th, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), we will only be livestreaming the Sunday 10:00 AM Mass in English. We will continue to livestream the Sunday Mass until Sunday, June 20, the celebration of Father’s Day. Following Father’s Day, we will no longer livestream any of our liturgical services (mass, adoration, night of worship, etc.).
Please keep in mind, those who are at-risk or are sick are encouraged to stay home, even outside of the dispensation. If anyone is in need of a personal dispensation, Fr. Scott Janysek has invited those individuals to speak with him and, if appropriate, he may grant a personal dispensation. As well, for those who wish to continue observing mass through an online platform, we invite you to visit Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) for their on-demand daily mass services, which can be found at https://ondemand.ewtn.com/Home/Series/ondemand/video/en/daily-catholic-mass.
We thank you, we are praying for you, and we look forward to seeing you in mass!
