We are a group of women (and one man) who sew items for our Outreach program and occasionally for the needs of the parish, through our knowledge, experience, and efforts. The ability to sew is not a requirement but it helps! We gather weekly to share and laugh, while our hands accomplish tasks. Mostly, we provide pillows to various shelters and agencies in San Antonio, for adults and children, to sleep or to hug. We also work on baby blankets, lap quilts, cosmetic and toiletry bags, Christmas stockings, laundry bags. The items vary but the purpose is the same – to help others in need, through fabric.
We meet Thursday mornings, 10AM to noon, in CR 102 in the Family Center Building located at The Annex of OLG – 11762 FM 1560N. We do not meet on holidays, Vacation Bible School, or severe weather warnings. But you can work from home too.
If you might be interested in this type of activity, come check us out and see for yourself. We want to meet you – new faces and ideas are good. No commitment, no obligations, and no charge!
We survive only with donations of fabric, some thread, pillow stuffing, quilt batting, etc. Of course, cash or gift cards are greatly appreciated. For health reasons, we cannot accept used pillows.
