Last summer, Helotes Mayor Rich Whitehead introduced Saint Vincent de Paul President, Joseph Beach, to Blayne Tucker, partner of the majority ownership group in John T. Floore’s Country Store. This introduction led to a flourishing partnership to help SVDP increase its services to our brothers and sisters in need in our community.
Floore’s has sponsored four events for Helotes House of Neighborly Service, SVDP’s charitable program that provides food, toiletries and other vital necessities to our neighbors in need in Helotes and Northwest San Antonio. A luncheon for SVDP’s Alliance of Community Churches Pastors and SVDP members, a food collection drive, a benefit concert at the Helotes Fair Grounds, and currently, a Christmas toy collection drive were hosted by Floore’s. This week, Mr. Tucker presented a check for $5,000 for Helotes House of Neighborly Service to SVDP’s Joseph Beach and Sabrina McGowan. These funds will give Helotes House the ability to provide emergency rent and utility assistance to its clients in need within the areas represented by SVDP’s Alliance of Community Churches.
SVDP is very grateful for Floore’s support of the mission of Helotes House to make a positive impact in the lives of our brothers and sisters in need.
