He is the oldest child of Mark and Elaine Janysek and has two younger sisters.

Fr. Scott graduated from Karnes City High School in 2005 and entered Holy Trinity Seminary right after his high school graduation that year. He was ordained on May 17, 2014, for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and a Master of Divinity from the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio.

Fr. Scott previously served as Pastor of St. Jerome Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas, as Parochial Vicar at St. Mary’s in Fredericksburg, Texas and Notre Dame in Kerrville, Texas.

His hobbies include, but are not limited to: hunting, fishing, scuba diving, cooking, baking, and reading. Ultimately, he loves God’s beautiful creation and is always finding ways to encounter God in the great
outdoors.

Most importantly, Fr. Scott would like to leave a legacy of his love for Christ to all that he encounters. He truly enjoys celebrating the Holy Mass, spending time in Adoration, working in ministry, and is devoted to offering the Sacrament of Reconciliation so that all will know they are forgiven and loved by God.
